Casino Terms Glossary: Ten Words Explained in Pesos
By PHPVIP Editorial Team
- Written for readers 21 and overIn the Philippines nobody under 21 may gamble, so every page here is written for readers past that birthday, whatever another sign-up form accepts.
- Every button leads to 76JLOur buttons all carry a single referral link, and that link opens 76JL; not one of them leads into a PHPVIP lobby.
- Facts held to public listsStatements about licences, wallets and age limits are compared with PAGCOR lists and BSP circulars before they are printed.
Rules and promotions often hide their conditions behind a handful of words. If you know ten of them, most of a terms page opens up. This casino terms glossary keeps each entry to a definition and one example with round numbers.
Casino Terms Glossary: The Ten Words
- RTP. Return to player (RTP) is how much of the total money wagered a game’s maths returns to players, averaged over a very long stretch. At 96% over many spins, ₱10,000 staked returns about ₱9,600, a long-run average and not a session result.
- Volatility. It describes the spread of wins. When volatility is low you see many small payouts, and a high-volatility game pays rarely but larger.
- Bet unit. The base amount you stake. Using ₱10 as your unit, a ₱500 budget is 50 units.
- Game weighting. The portion of each bet the wagering requirement credits, covered below.
- Wagering requirement. The turnover a bonus asks for before its winnings can leave the account.
- Payline. A line on which matching symbols pay. Some games use ways instead.
- House edge. The share a game keeps over time, equal to 100% minus the RTP.
- Max cashout. A cap on what a bonus can turn into cash.
- Turnover. The total staked, which is not the same as the total lost.
- Stake. The money put on one spin, shot or bet.
Before you go: learn the words in the order they appear in the terms you are about to accept.
Bet Unit and Why It Helps
Counting in units makes a budget easier to see. A ₱1,000 session at a ₱10 unit gives 100 spins; the same session at ₱50 gives only 20. The unit size, not the budget alone, decides how long you play.
Before you go: choose the unit first and let the budget follow it.
Game Weighting and Wagering Requirements
Terms of a bonus join two of the words. A requirement of 10 times a ₱200 bonus asks for ₱2,000 of counted turnover. If a game has 50% weighting, each ₱100 bet counts for ₱50, so reaching ₱2,000 takes ₱4,000 of real bets.
| Item | Value in this example |
|---|---|
| Bonus | ₱200 |
| Requirement | 10 times |
| Counted turnover needed | ₱2,000 |
| Game weighting | 50% |
| Real bets needed | ₱4,000 |
These are invented figures. The lobby’s own promotion terms hold the real ones, and the site does not repeat any.
Before you go: find the weighting line before you choose which game to clear a bonus on.
Terms That Trip Players Up
Problem: you read RTP as what you get back tonight. Fix: keep RTP for comparing games; your Friday session owes it nothing.
Problem: you read turnover as money lost. Fix: turnover is total staked; a ₱10 spin repeated 100 times is ₱1,000 of turnover even if you finish level.
Problem: you assume every game counts fully toward a requirement. Fix: read the weighting line, because some games count for less.
