Mahjong Ways 2: What the Sequel Changes From the First Game

- Written for readers 21 and overIn the Philippines nobody under 21 may gamble, so every page here is written for readers past that birthday, whatever another sign-up form accepts.
- Every button leads to 76JLOur buttons all carry a single referral link, and that link opens 76JL; not one of them leads into a PHPVIP lobby.
- Facts held to public listsStatements about licences, wallets and age limits are compared with PAGCOR lists and BSP circulars before they are printed.
You liked the first Mahjong Ways and want to know what the sequel changes. Mahjong Ways 2 keeps the free-spin multiplier that rises to 10x, and moves almost everything else. PHPVIP’s signed-out screens do not name it, so every figure here is from PG Soft.
Before you go: the RTP hardly differs across the two games, so the difference is in how the top end is reached.
Mahjong Ways 2: The Differences in a Table
You can see the shift line by line. The right-hand column is what PG Soft publishes for the sequel.
| Detail | Mahjong Ways | Mahjong Ways 2 |
|---|---|---|
| Ways to win | 1,024 | 2,000 |
| Cascade type | Cascading wins | Avalanche |
| RTP | 96.92% | 96.95% |
| Maximum win | 25000x | 100000x |
| Volatility | Medium | Medium |
The grid is five reels and four rows, with one added row on reels 2, 3 and 4, and that is how the way count nearly doubles.
Before you go: read the way count from the table, not from the name of the game.
What 100000x on a Medium Game Means
You may be struck by the size of that maximum. A medium-volatility label sits oddly beside a six-figure ceiling, and the common reading is that the ceiling is a bookkeeping cap, not a result anyone should budget for.
Here is the scale. At a ₱10 stake, 100000x is ₱1,000,000, and at 25000x on the first game the same stake gives ₱250,000. The RTP rose by only 0.03 of a point, and the higher ceiling is bought with rarity.
- The way count rises from 1,024 to 2,000.
- The ceiling quadruples from 25000x to 100000x.
- The RTP stays within 0.03 of a point.
Before you go: the sums are for scale, and a ceiling that high is a reason for caution, not for a bigger stake.
What a 0.03-Point RTP Gap Costs
You may ask whether 96.95% beats 96.92% in a way you would feel. Over a very large number of spins, the first returns ₱9,695 of every ₱10,000 staked and the second ₱9,692, a difference of ₱3.
You will never see ₱3 per ₱10,000 in a session, so the choice between the two games is about the ways, the cascade style and the ceiling, not about the RTP.
Before you go: choose by the feature you like to watch, because the return figure will not tell the games apart.
Golden Tiles and the Free-Spin Multiplier
You might wonder what keeps an avalanche going. As they fall, golden tiles are converted into wilds; during free spins the multiplier can reach 10x and holds for the rest of the round.
That is the same mechanism as the first Mahjong Ways, only fed by more ways. PG Soft’s games timeline dates the sequel 14 April 2020. For another PG Soft slot with a six-figure ceiling, see Lucky Neko and its cat multipliers, or, for a mid-sized ceiling, Wild Bounty Showdown’s 5000x.
To try it, use your login and the game tabs, or register to check availability. Players must be 21 or older.
Before you go: if a chain is long and the multiplier is high, keep the next stake where it was.
How to Get Started
-
Compare the way count
The original evaluates 1,024 ways and this one 2,000, which is why more symbols can line up.
-
Watch the golden tiles
Golden tiles turn into wilds as they fall, and that keeps a chain going.
-
Read 100000x as a ceiling
A medium-volatility label next to a six-figure maximum tells you the top is rare.
